D 17 whats it worth???????

Went to see a IH tractor turned out to be junk but stopped at a gentle mans house to ask directions and got to talking he showed me a early D 17 gas with 8 speed trans? orginal paint, wide front, no power steering. good front tires weathered cracked rear tires, good gauges, needs new seat and left fender is rusted bad, bottom rusted out of tool box, run but has a slight miss, paint weathered bad , has a 3 bottom snap couple plow, 4 row rear cultivators, and sickle bar mower with it for $1000.00 is it a good deal? what kind of hp? where can I get used parts cheap? Whats it worth high side low side, Dode any body have intrest in mower and culitvators? What should I look for in weak points? whats its strong points? About how old is it? Its all orange ! 1958? Thanks for help Dann

a decent D17 is probably $1500. minimum. good paint and tires, not new, is in the $2500. range. you cant get hurt at $1000. if it starts. sickle bar mower could be $2-300 depends on condition. Where are you?
