I just picked up a '37 AC-M in really nice runnning condition. I have looked through this forum for the answers to the following questions and being unable to find them, I'll ask here:

1) What is a modern part number for the oil filter? I know NAPA carries or carried them but neither them nor I seem to be able to find the exact number.

2) What would be the correct paint color code for a '37 model M? Perhaps in Martin Senior or Dupont Dulux codes.

3) I'd like to find a blade and I believe the model M's never came with one. Which after market setup should I be looking for? Perhaps a Holt of some type?

Thanks!

Dave

Just to answer my own question here, the Model M's use three different kinds of oil filters.

The first was a small cartridge, AC part number B-1296.

Then after that and previous to serial number M3539, a larger cartridge, AC part number 8987, was used.

But starting with serial number M3539, a spin-on filter was used. This was AC Part number 204912, was also used on other tractors such as the WD45, and has a modern equivalent NAPA part number - 1101. I have obtained a couple NAPA 1101 oil filters and they fit and work perfectly.

Dave, I'm not sure on the oil filter, but the paint will be persian orange #1. They did come with a blade, and it was made by Baker, they are hard to find but they are out there. Hope this helps you out some, Darrell Jr (MN)
