Tearing down an Allis C

Dick L. I have a C and WC and would like to begin restoring them. After I split my C (Narrow front),where do I lift the engine from and do I take the front wheels off as one unit? Thanks for the advice.

I would start at the front and work back. Block up the torque tube, and engine, then takeoff the front end, then the engine. Make good wide stable supports for everything, you are going to have a pretty high support, don't want it to tip and dump your project on you or the ground.

I do take the front wheels off as a unit by removing the four nuts that hold them to the front of the engine. The diassembly pictures I am posting are not complete. I think I have more that go with these on a computer at work.
I had the head off before starting to take these pictures. If I am not removing the head I have a simple angleiron bracket I fasten to the studs that hold the valve cover on. I will take some pictures tomorrow to show the bracket.
