I own a 41 B with some form of a hydraulic valve mounted on thr rear differential. I am completely at a loss as to how it should work, although i do have 2 small pistons which came with the tractor. There are 2 pins which are located under the seat on both sides of the differential which I assume the back end of the pistons slip over. I have no idea where the other end of the pistons may connect to or how the valve is connected or works. All info is appreciated

the valve at the back of the differential should have a 1/4 inch pipe plug sticking out of the middle of the back, angled to the right side of the tractor. this is the "pressure out". there are two levers in this area. the one above the right axle shaft goes into the case infront of the hydraulic valve. You raise this lever up and it engages the gear drive on the hydraulic pump. the pump will now turn and the pto shaft will turn. (push in the clutch before you engage the lever.) now the second lever is a small 1/4 inch rod that connects to the hydraulic pump on the sheetmetal cam. when you rotate the cam forward you open the ports and the hydraulic oil goes out the 1/4 inch hose port we discussed earlier. if you let the lever go, it sets in the middle position which is "hold" if you push the lever down, it opens the port and the hydraulic oil comes back from the cylinder thru the vavle into the oil cavity. this is called "one way hydraulics" you have power up, but only float down. like T.S. said, you may have another vavle mounted under the seat that the hydraulic hose goes to. if so then you have a splitter vavle and there are two outlet hoses, one for the front and one for the back. if no valve then the hose from the valve probably goes to both rear cylinders. they pin under the seat and can point down or backward. you can lift a blade, or disc, etc with them. remember, power raise and float down. only 1 hose to each cylinder. go to a local farm or equipment dealer that has some equipment from 1950, they all look like this.

That is for a left hand plow and a right hand plow . The hyd :"switch" switches one or the other cyclendars to be active.
