There is an Allis Chalmers tractor in my mothers backyard. It looks like a 1930's WC, but it has a single front wheel. I can not find a data plate or anything with date. Thank you for any info you can give me.

Ryan,
There are three places to look for the "TRACTOR NO." on A-C tractors from the 30's and 40's. On the WC, look for a raised area on the center of the rear axle. On the WD and WD45, the number is over on the left end of the rear axle near the brake spring cover. On the smaller A-C units, it's in front of the gearshift. All of the serial numbers will begin with the model (RC, WC, WD, 45, B, C, CA, G, etc.).

Good luck,
Phil

look on the rear axle, if it is a WC or WD. may be covered with paint.
