My fatherinlaw needs a engine for his 44 C. The block is cracked between all the cylinders. Who has good rebuilds. We are in Wisconsin. Anyone near that has them.

Quality Farm and Fleet advertises a rebuilt short block assy for $1149.99 with exchange, a buddy of mine got a cub engine from them and it runs really good after 4 years. I personally would rebuild it myself, but in the long run you are not saving much if you need to use a machine shop or replace a major component. Their number is 1(888)828-3276. Good luck T.J.

A high percentage of the B, C, and CA blocks that are running every day have cracks between the cylinders of the block. If the cracks have not spread apart and lifted up on one side, the head gasket will seal off the crack. The sleeves are supposed to stand up above the block .001/.002 and seal against the head.

We hade the impulse cupling explode and it died. Put a distributer off our Allis RC on it and got it running. Ran bad. Had to jump start it to get it running. Speewed all this black water out the stack. When my JD B lost its head gasket, same thing. Dumped the oil and half water and oil came out. Took the head off and you can see where the head gasket was leaking. Don't know if we want to mess with rebuilding another block or get a rebuilt short block. Thanks for the imput.
