I think the linkage on my fathers 1950 model B has been modified. Does anyone have a good pic of the correct linkage on the left side of the tractor from the gearbox to the front axle?

thanks
Darrin

Check out the link included - Herb Blair's 1950 B restoration page with pictures. His has an adjustable wide front end but the linkage should be similar up to the axle if not identical (have to look in a parts book to see). Hope that helps.

I will e-mail you a picture of a "B". dont know how detailed you want to get. With the front wheels pointing straight forward, the arm on the gear box should point straight down toward the ground. The end of the arm is bent 90 degrees with a ball on the end. The rod to the front end is about straight and has an adjustable ball socket at each end. You can adjust slop out with a screw driver and repin with cotter key. The front arm is shorter that the steering box arm, but looks similar. It is part of the two legged casting that sets on the left wheel kingpin. Of coures the left and right are tied together with an adjustable tie rod, just like a truck. If your gear box arm points up, or your rod to the front end has been modified, it is possible you have a "C" gearbox, or a wide front that was adapted to a narrow front end.
