Shep,

I would try pulling that puppy with another tractor or truck and get the motor spinning, I mean flat out spinning. We have an Allis C that had a problem starting.....we pulled it one time really fast and it started then. And we haven't had any problems since... But, spin that puppy over really really good for awhile and see what happens. Good luck and keep us posted.

I went to start up a tractor -one day this summer at our museum -which had always been a good starter, and it wouldn't start. I played around with it for about 10min. ckecking spark, gas etc. and then like a bolt of lightning it hit me . It was turning over backwards. Somebody had switched the starters (colors didn't match anyway) . I'm thinking maybe you got a similiar situation and they sound almost the same cranking backwards.

Just a guess but it looks like a new solenoid on the starter, some solenoids are energized by grounding some by hot side might want to check it
out.

Shep, thanks for pointing out the photo sight...I am sure this has already been addressed, but did you do a compression check? Pete

Pete, I don't think Shep has had a chance to do that, as the starter is not turning the motor over.
