I run my IB typically with a light load. I have a problem with the plugs fowling about every 30hrs. I thought I would try a hotter plug. Does anyone have any suggestions on what plug to use? Currently I use AC Delco R45. Thanks.

A hotter plug might work if you tractor is burning oil. The spark is the same, just the end of the plug is hotter in temperature. I would stay away from Champion plugs. Stick with the AC's, or Autolite would work too.

book says AC 45. my IB had Champion J12YC and seems to work o.k. but they always look a little black. Does the tractor use oil? rings might be getting a little tired. I agree a slightly hotter plug might help. I think that would be a AC 46 or 47. The AC47 was used in the distolate tractors.
