On my WD the rams still settle with Allis 821 oil in the resivor. But yesterday I took it out with my plow and when I was getting ready to go home with it I seen that one of the rams was leaking like a sieve. Could new packing stop it from settling? If it still settles with new packing in the rams, what could be worn in the pump to make it settle? Any suggestions welcome. Thanks.

Plow Man,
Yep! Leaking packing seals will cause the settling problem. If they still settle after replacment of the packings, look for other external leaks, then check out the pump and valves. There may be a stuck or leaking relief valve or bad seals in the pump. Pump overhaul kits are still available from AGCO and other places. Sandy Lake Implement in PA would be a good online place to start if you can't find parts locally. Email them at [email protected]

Good luck,
Phil
