D12 manifold bolts froze

What is the best way to take this manifold off.
I do not want to break it and I do not think an easy out would do the trick. These things are really welded by rust.
The only thing I can think of is to drill dead center and retap for new studs in the block.

Use PB Blaster or Kroil. It may take a little time, but soak them good and be patient. Repeated soakings may be required. You can get PB Blaster at many auto parts stores and Wal-Mart. You can get Kroil from NAPA or from their Web site. Punch this link:

Thanks Glen,

I use PB Blaster but need to be more patient. I actually soaked it down again this morning with PB and will do so again daily for a week or more.

Another way is to go is:
a) secure all wiring safely
b)light up the Victor smokewrench
c) heat the nut & stud
d) smack with a 3 lb. sledge
e) let cool
f) apply PB Blaster
g) try to remove bolts
h) repeat as necessary

This is what I did on my AC disk plow frame (see Implement board post "Redneckin' the Plow"). It worked fine and was able to salvage frame for future sale or use. Other option was to cut off frame and did not want to do that.

Best of luck with your D12 - right now my D10 is really trying my patience.
