WD 6-volt conversion

Can I get some feed back from anyone who knows of a 6-volt system, being converted over using an 8-volt battery?

In regards to an earlier posting: (An 8-volt conversion only requires an 8-volt battery (TSC and others have these) and a little tuning- maybe none. Drop in the battery, check the charging rate, and if necessary adjust the third brush

This seems to be a simple solution to a problem I am facing, but want to here from someone who has done this, and weather or not they are happy with the switch.

WE HAD A WD45 THAT WE USED A 8 VOLT BATTERY IN IT DID HELP, BUT WE ALSO SWITCHED IT OVER TO A 12 VOLT SYSTEM, THIS WORKED BEST. YOU DONT'T NEED TO SWITCH THE DISTRIBUTOR JUST ADD A RECTIFIRE TO DROP TH VOLTAGE BACK DOWN TO 6 VOLTS BEFORE THE COIL.

We put in an 8 volt battery on a wd45 when i was growing up . It really helped. Later we put a 12volt generator ,battery and Bosch mageneto.This worked even better.
