WC side rails

I want to take the side rails off of my WC and paint them, if I take them off one at a time, will the remaining side rail support the tractor? Or do I need to support the tractor on blocks ? TNX Dee

One side at a time is no problem. You need to block up under the flat trans plate to carry the load of the engine. Leave the front wheels touching, as the front pedistal is VERY heavy and will flex the other rail if it is in the air.
Remember that when you pull the right side, all the steering is bolted to the inside of it.
On WC and WD's the front at the pedistal tends to rust together. I use wedges of hardwood to drive into the joint to get them apart. A little diesel fuel sprayed into the seam a day or so before will help too. If you loosen the rear two bolts a good bit then remove all the small bolts, it will make it a lot easier to deal with the weight of the beam Here's an idea of what you are going to have..... ...
