A friend of mine has an AC C that he wants to use for mowing his yard. Any suggestions where he might find a mower that would work? Any suggestions on what the best brand or type? Any information would be appreciated. The tractor is completely restored so do not want to butcher it up putting a mower on it. Thanks.

Hi,

I've got a 'C' with a L306 Woods mower, this is a 6 foot deck with three blades. I finish mow with it and it does a great job. The L59 Woods is smaller a (5 foot) three blade mower that might also be a good choice for longer grass or wet grass. My 'C' works pretty hard if the grass is long and wet, this is with a fresh motor, previously the motor would not hold RPM when the grass was wet/long. I mow in low gear and have slightly larger turf tires (12/24?) on the rear as compared to standard ag tires (10/24?).

Email me if you have specific questions on the 'C' /Woods L306 combo.

regards,
mark

Woods makes several for the C, complete with hardware to mount. Paul Bazetta's web site at Link has a listing of various woods mowers with his prices. I am planning on buying an L59 5 foot mower for my B sometime (just wish it was soon!).

Getting ready to do the same thing with a restored 'B'.

Woods has a belly mower that's belt driven and they have all the mounting hardware for the 'B' and 'C' models. Great cutting machine and I've never heard of one better. There are better finish cutters but none that are belt driven and belly mount.
