Have an opportunity to buy an AC WC tractor. I know nothing about AC's. I have however restored a Ford Golden Jubilee and am in the process of doing a Farmall M - so I know a little about tractors in general.

Heres the scoop:
(1) Very good tires
(2) Had to pull start it to get it to run after it had been sitting for about 8 years
(3) Sheet metal all very straight and no visible signs of rust (Ive been told It was repainted several years ago - like in the early 70's)
(4) Does not smoke
(5) The guy said he thought it was kind of rare because of the rear-end (He thought they only made it out of steel instead of cast for one year?)
(6) He wants it gone.

I know for the price he is asking it has to be worth it - $400. Just curious what the real value of this machine is.

Also, I have an extra Woods L59 mower - would this be a good mate for it?

Thanks

Not a bad deal at all. If it starts and runs, has great ires and the tin is good. The steel rearends were made during the war. I'm not sure for how many years or how many tractors, but it is a more rare tractor than any others.
