I am unfamiliar with AC tractors. Today I brought home an unstyled WC. I was wandering if I made a good find? The tractor is complete, but rough. The front tires are rubber, and the rear wheels are steel. Any information will be appreciated. Thanks all, Terry

I think its a good find. I have a 1937 unstyled WC, I am debating if I will work on it this winter or not (she needs more than a few parts). I have three projects including the WC. I love the simplicy of those WC's. If I can rig something up on the front hubs so she'll roll she just may be next! -BTD

My dad began AC dealership in 1938 and I have a publicity photo which shows a new WC with steel rears and rubber fronts. The picture was published in the fall 1998 Old Allis News. To be an unstyled WC, the serial number has to be prior to WC74330. You made a good find.

WC was made fron 1933-1948. Steel wheels on the rear was common during the war. Serial number should be on the rear axle i believe. Should be WC then 5 or 6 digits.

If the serial number is 83984, it was built in 1939, but it would not be an unstyled tractor. My dad's was 77717 (easy to remember but haven't been able to find it since it was traded for a new WD45 in '56). Dad's was also a '39, styled, with rubber front and back. Rears were 11-24. Could the poster be mistaken with the number, if is indeed unstyled, or could the rear end have been switched? Unstyled is obvious with the 'square' gas tank and flat fenders, and usually no starter, although I have seen unstyled with a starter.
