I have a 38 AC B and am getting ready to paint the back rims. Should they be orange or aluminum? I have seen both. Also when I get decals to put on it, I like the looks of the blue letters better, but what is correct? I have mostly seen black letters. Thanks a lot.

Hi,

I restored my '42 'C' last winter...I painted mine orange/orange (both casting and wheel) as I feel it looks most correct. I've heard both opinions (orange/galvanized, and orange/orange).

I put Lyle's decals on my 'C', blue letters with long tails on A and C. He sells really good sets, probably the best out there for almost the same cost as lesser sets.

regards,
mark

I agree the decals for a '38 are the blue with long tails on the A and S. However, when I checked into the rim colors I found that the first silver rims were the WD series. The B's were all orange according to what I found. I also learned that you can pretty much do what you like best... it is your tractor. I am curious to what others think about the original rim color???

I have a '52 IB which i am restoring. The rims have silver paint all the way to the core. Just got thru wire brushing to bare metal. But i cant guarantee they were original rims, but look like it.

The rear rims should be alum. with orange center castings. Call Lyle Wacker at 402-582-4874 if you want the most Original decals money can buy,and yes your tractor should have blue letters with a long A and a long S.
