I have a 1949 Allis Chalmers WD. The thing that puzzles myself and all the AC boys' I know, is that it has the sediment bulb on the right side, next to the steering column. In fact, the bulb rubs on the steering column. The tractor has had many parts bought off of other tractors' and been put back together. Now I have to try and finish the job. Does anyone have any idea's as to what this tank came off of?? It looks exactly like the gas tank the is supposed to be on the tractor, minus the fact that the bulb is on the wrong side. Please help!!!!!

You might have a tank from a WF tractor (wheatland version of the WC). Their sediment bulb is on the opposite side of a WC, WD, etc.

For what it's worth, the sediment bowl on my WC is on the opposite side from the WD. Maybe you have a WC tank. I think they're the same otherwise.

I bought some stuff from a guy a couple of years back that were advertised as WD parts. When I went to look at them I noticed the gas outlet was on wrong side of tank and the starter switch was set up for "push" instead of "pull" so I figured they were WC parts. The guy wasn't being dishonest; he just thought they were WD parts. The price was real good, so I bought the stuff anyway. I think the starter will work on my WD and the radiator, radiator shell and shutters look the same as WD as well. I think the tank could be used too, but it might look a little funny with the extra tubing necessary to get over to the other side.
