Today I looked at a 52 model WD-45, only it wasn't it was a 40 WC, Se 95117 its an unusual tractor, the 'hand' brakes are on the fenders and it has a in out shift (housing cracked) between the trans and differential, which leaves the pto engaged. I'm not really interested in it, they asked me $150.00 the engine is stuck, but all the major parts are there, the flatspoked wheels have had rubber tire rims welded on, Mostly i am curious to know more about this model

The in/out shifter you mentioned allowed the operator to also raise the cultivator power lift without moving the tractor forward. The power lift mounts over the flat-topped housing just in front of the shifter, behind the transmission. Very handy if you accidently trip the cultivator when you are parked in a place where you can no longer go forward, since the transmission MUST be in gear to provide power to the lift. The shifter also made round baling easier, since it could easily be shifted out to let the baler wrap twine, and then shifted in to continue driving. Little quicker than shifting the transmission in and out for each bale, but not near as handy as the hand clutch on a WD. Hand brakes on a WC were normal; again not as good as the foot brakes on other tractors. Price sounds like it's worth the money.
