I recently purchased a sprayer with a hydraulically operated pump. Does anyone have any info on how to hook it up to a 1960 D-14? There is only a single connector for the transport ram and the pump requires 2 connections. Any info on
including instructions and or kits would be appreciated.

the lift cylinder with only "raise" is common for old equipment. It uses one hose and when the lever is put in the down or "float " position the oil goes back down the supply hose. I assume your D-14 has one way hydraulics and works like that. The hydraulic motor on the other hand needs a constant flow or oil to make it rotate. you supply a pressure hose to the motor and need a "return hose" that dumps back into your hydraulic oil resivour (transmission case). I am not overly familiar with this particular equipment, but the hydraulics is very common. You probably need a two spool valve, or a tow way selector valve so you can operate both the sprayer and the raise cylinder. Did it come with a set of valves? If you need a simple hydraulic schematic i can e-mail a drawing, but i dont have the factory instructions.

Steve, I would appreciate any drawings you might have. I am not familiar with the terminology associated with different hydraulic valves. I knew I needed the constant flow just wasn't sure if I would have it from the factory. If I just keep the lever up in the "lift" position will this supply a constant flow given that I have the correct valve installed on the rear of my tractor? Ideally I don't want to lose the regular single action as I have a jerk bucket already on the tractor.

joe, i will send yo a print and some data. might suggest that you buy two hoses about 5 feet long. plumb your present hose that feeds the bucket, to the sprayer motor setting on the ground behind the tractor. run a return hose back and stick in the transmission oil fill plug hole. just set in the driveway and see if your hydraulic valve supplys enought volume of oil to turn the hydraulic motor fast enought and make the spray rig work. best to make a test run before you start buying new valves and more equipment.
