I have the shop manual but, can't find the info I'm looking for in it. On the top of the block is the valve cover ,with the breather(?) and 4 studs with nuts sticking through. These studs are for what ??? And if loose do they need to be tightened or is an adjustment purpose they serve and what would be the possible adjustment. Or are they just valve cover bolts that need to be tightened down. They all seem to be loose?????

Those studs do 2 things, they hold the valve cover down, and the hold the rocer arm shaft down. Better pull the valve cover off and see why they are loose. Everything should be nice and snug. It's been a while since I had my engine apart, but I am almost certain that the rocker arm towers are held down by those studs, as well as the valve cover.

if the studs are loose and wiggle, pull the valve cover and tighten. if just the nuts are loose on the studs, then just tighten them. all they do is seal the vavle cover on the head.

Thanks, just wanted to make sure I wasn't screwing up some adjustment. Will tighten in the morning.
Thanks Again
