Compact spare tires

I remember someone, maybe on this list, mentioning that they had been using compact spare tires for front tires and they worked fine. Just put one on the front of a B. Seems a little small, are there different widths as in regular tires? Never paid much attention to compact spare tires, maybe I will be. Comments?

On my way to the FORD site, sorry guys,,, I saw the post for spare tires. I've been using them on my old Ford 2N for many years. I had to drill some holes for the studs, but as was stated, the price is right ! Haven't had any problems with them. Bob

I use 2 of these on my N.H.66 baler they work great and are almost a perfect match in size.The only problem I see is that the side walls are very thin and it would not take much to put a rock through.Also if your tractor is light in the front they dont have much tread to give you steering authority T.J.

We use those throwaway spares from cars all the time on our pulling tractors, B and CA. They work fine. There's a junkyard here that will give them to us for free. Miller Tire is giving them away free but you have to pay shipping on them.

Scroll back to 9/12/01 on this forum and you will find some discussion on this. I think the 15" space saver came in only one size and it is smaller than the 4.00-15. You need to use them in pairs.
