WD sn# location?

I have been looking for the sn# for a WD I purchased. The info I have found on the Internet states that the sn# is supposed to be on a plate on the left rear brake differential housing, but I cannot find a plate, or anything that looks like it is the serial number on either side of the differential housings.

Can you please let me know where on the tractor, the sn# is supposed to be located?

Also, I would like to find out about the engine sn#. Where is it located? The engine has a sticker that is mostly worn off, but it looks like it says something about a "crate" motor, so if this motor was repalced, I would like to know if it is a WD or WD-45 engine?

The SN is located just below a hole in the casting on the left side of the differential. Shuld be a brake spring sticking out of that hole. It'll start with WDxxx. As for the crate sticker, that would be the "power crater" pistons that AC came out with with the WD-45's. Gave them a little more power. It's possible that someone put a WD45 engine in it, put a WD45 crankshaft and pistons in it, you might have a WD45. The last of the WD's came out with WD45 style engines and trannys as well. The WD45's had curved shifter handles and did not have a steel plate on the right hand side of the engine. A late WD might have those changes as well. The engine SN is located behind the carb, I believe.
