What is the differences between a C.A and a B?

I know C.A. has spin out wheels, 125 cubic inchs, 4 forward gears 1 reverse.

What is the difference in the motors?

What is the difference in horse power?

What does C.A. stand for?

Mr. Allis-- the B started production in 1938 with an umderpowered 4 cylinder motor. A couple years later they started making the C model and both B and C tractors started using the updated "CE engine. The B was knowm as a single bottom plow tractor and they had wide front ends. The C was known as a two bottom plow tractor and most of them were narrow front end. By 1950 Allis was making some changes and developed a new transmission (4 speed) and added a clutch on the rear axle so you could kill the drive power but keep the pto live. The "new" tractor was called a "CA". It gained a few hundred pounds and had some of the features of the D12 that would arrive in the late 1950's. Basically the CA has the four speed, clutch on rear axle, new hydraulics, spinout wheels and a few other goodies. Engine was the same model, but by the 1950 was up around 22 HP where it had started out in 1938 about 15 HP. I do believe the B models made in the 1950's also had this same higher HP engine.
