Power steering diagram for WD or WD45

I was wondering if anyone had a diagram for setting up a power steering unit on a WD. I was told it is possible to have a unit from a D-17. How does it all hook up? I mean the pump and the motor I know were those are. But is there a resevivor or valve system? If anyone has a WD or a WD45 with a PS unit setup could you help me with my problem. Thanks.

Go to the 'search this site' area and type in power steering for the AC line. There are over 200 items on this subject. A guy named Dana Hobson has some pictures posted of his power steering on a WD45. I am working at installing power steering on my WD45, but have stopped for harvest and I am still mowing with the tractor. I am using a Char-Lynn unit spliced into the steering shaft near the starter area. My pump is a Ford unit with the integral reservior mounted at the old generator mount area. This allows the fluid to be checked without removing anything and eliminates a seperate reservoir. The air from the fan helps to keep the fluid cooled down. I am mounting the alternator above the cylinder head/water pump area. The alternator rarely needs attention so I thought this would be a good place for it. Genesee Products has some really good alternator mounting blocks and slotted adjusting brackets. You have to get a dual groove crankshaft pulley and several parts folks on this site offer them. The pulley comes off the crankshaft very easily. The Char-Lynn unit is the hard part to get. You can buy a new one from Force America(1-800-3282732).The new units have changed in design a little and may not fit a WD I am told, although the salesman was not sure. To find a used unit is just a 'beat the bushes' operation and takes time. Hope this helps.
