WD clutch problem

Hi, I have a 1950 wd that has a foot clutch problem. The hand clutch works but not foot clutch. I checked throw out bearing and adjusted but no good. Also cant ingage the pto. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Greg

Greg,
If this problem started all of a sudden, my quess would be, that a section of clutch faceing probably came loose and has "doubled up" under another section and won't allow the clutch to completly release!!! Duey

Greg, If the tractor has been sitting unused for some time, the clutch disc may have "rusted fast" to the flywheel and/or pressure plate. You might try starting the tractor in 4th gear with both clutches in the release position and then with foot clutch depressed and brakes applied firmly, "jerk" the hand clutch to attempt to break the engine clutch free. I've never had the problem with my WD or WD-45 but my dad had the problem with his "B". Since it didn't have a hand clutch, he push started it in high and while moving along alternately applied and released the brakes with the clutch fully depressed; the clutch broke loose after a few trys.
