Helping a freind with some battery problems, and I need to know if the 6 volt system is Positive ground or negative ground. Does ground go to post by battery or underneath the battery box?

Many thanks!

Originally grounded to the post that supports the steering column. The bolt that fastens the battery box to the post.

Positive ground. Any good, clean spot will do for the ground, I don't know where the original connection point was. Make sure the battery cables are at least 2Ga. wire, larger is better.

if you hook it up backward, the generator will be toast. positive ground and negative to the starter as Phil said.
