Put new mag on it, still shuts down after getting hot, had a guy come out and take a look. He said to check #1 wire for spark when it got hot to see if it was a problem with bad mag. Tried that, tractor got hot pulled #1 wire to check for spark and it fired up and run on three, had spark, but tractor was running on three, and sounded good till I put #1 wire back on then it shut down. Any ideas? How do I check the water pump, maybe that is making it over heat????

Is it running out of gas? Check bowl drain when it stops. Is there gas in the bowl? open gas tank, is it undr vacuum. Maybe not getting air in as gas goes out?? When it dies does it have to set till it is cool,(like electrical problem) or just wait a second untill it gets another swig of gas?

You might check your distributor cap to see if it is shorting out. Check inside the cap and then run it in the dark and see if it is shorting out. You can see the lightning real well in the dark. P. S. don't touch it. It still bites in the dark.
