Thanks to all for the help. Now a new problem. Ray and I took a good look at the rear rims tonight. VERY rusty near the valve stems. Fluid in the tires. The rims must be replaced. Any good ideas on where to find some? And what he may expect to pay? 24"x 11". Have the power adjust feature. Don't know if that was standard but if we find some without it and we can easily adapt them to the hubs thats ok.

The paint on the tractor is fair but.... I told Ray I have 2 quarts of AC Orange on the shelf and I'll never have a use for them so I guess I'm painting a tractor. :)

By the way Ray married my mother a year ago. His wife of 50 years had died and my father died many years ago. My mother and Ray were childhood sweethearts who found each other again after 50 some years. He is a really nice guy and I'm happy to have him and his new toy in my shop.

Thanks for the advice guys, Lynn.

You can take the rims to your local machine shop and they can repair them from the inside by welding a plate over the rusted out spot and then redrilling a hole for the valve stem.

Miller does handle the power adjust rim but they are about $235 a rim. The $60-70 price for plain rims. Could a 5/8" washer be welded in where the value stem goes? Might be a less costly soultion.

The smaller CA rims may ship different. My brother looked at Miller for Farmall H rim, the price is very reasonable but Frieght charges were almost as much as the the rim. The frieght charges drove him to look harder at a local source and they were used.
