WD45 PTO

I would sure like 2 know will the gears from a WD PTO work in a WD45? the gear in PTO gear box is bad and the one in the tractor is striped.
Will it interchange?

Richard,i am sure they are the same,i hope you can find some used ones because they are realy expensive.did you say the intermediate gear in the tractor is bad too? You can change it from the bottom but it is tricky,i just replaced the whole torque tube on my WD, i tore up all the gears in mine,including the gear up on the main shaft.if you need more info just post,Good Luck

They are the same. WC ones will fit too, however they have a different type of seal and the AC manuals say use WC or cast iron housings for WCs and later (stronger malable iron) housings on WDs and especially WD45s.

Forgot to say set backlash with different thickness gaskets. AC says "Install PTO to torque tube, using one gasket. Use sealer on both sides of gasket. If clearance between idler gear and intermediate gear is less than .004" backlash use two gaskets." The idler gear is the one you see in the top ot the PTO when you take it off. The intermediate gear is the one it meshes with in the torque tube. Hope this helps.
