I went to a farm sale to day in western Illinois. The old guy had several old AC tractors and was selling out. The house furniture and antiques brought a fortune. After the girls left they sold the tractors. There was maybe 100 of us buyers. A WC parts tractor brought $100. a WD parts tractor brought $200. Couple of running WDs and a WD45 narrow front ends, brought $500. each. The paint and tires were old, but they all three run. An old C with wornout tires brough $700. Wasnt a good day for Allis. They gave the cultivators and plows away for $20. each.

"It's the economy-stupid"-George Bush (Sr.) thing...(I'm not calling you stupid). Now seems to be the time to snap up old tractors and other related goodies...it's not just AC. I've seen a minne-mo Z in good shape go for $200 at a recent auction. At another auction I saw an ancient Mc/dear on original steel go for $175 and the tractor ran! As we all know-it takes money to restore these old gems...and a lot folks are suffering from that dreaded Italian disese "mu-funds-a-lo". I'm hoping there are a few auctions with some AC stuff yet this year.

What did the girls have to say?? Well, mine hasn't talked to me since my son and I brought the CA home a few weeks ago. If I had known it would have that effect, I would have bought it YEARS ago :>)

Bet you didn't show her this post. Of course that might be good for quite a bit more silence.
