who rebuilds wd oil pumps? mine has .020 " back lash on gears, low oil presure no on idle,5 psi on 1100 rpm. any info appreciated,i checked the acuracy of the gauges.

Low oil pressure can also be caused by worn rods, mains and especially worn cam bearings in a WD. I would recommend that you forget your WD oil pump and instead get a (good, new or rebuilt)WD45 oil pump that has greater capacity (volume) because it has longer pump gears. If you set the pressure relief at 15 to 20 psi, you may be supprised how well your tractor will hold oil pressure even at idle. If it does not, you need to do some bearing work. Do not go over 25 psi relief pressure or you may have cam gear or oil pump drive gear problems. Good luck, Gordon

"Wear on shaft or body may cause low pump pressure. Replace if clearance exceeds .008" Maximum backlash on gears is .015" so you need to replace them. "End play of the pump gears should be about .002". If greater, the body may be lapped on a face plate with compound." This is written in the AC shop manual.
