Tommarrow I have to run an Allis Chalmer 90 or 190 (not shure what the number is). I breifly ran it, but I can figure out where the high/low shifter is. Is it that lever next to the trottle? I wasn't able to try it since someone tied forward with a piece of wire. Which means there is something wrong with it.

Jon, if this tractor is an AC 190 I think if the "hi-low" shifter on the console on the right side as you sit in the seat is forward, you will be in the "upper" gears on the shift plate. It has been almost 30 years since I ran a 190 but I think the gearing on the plate was 1,3 2,4 5,7 6,8 so you will only have 3,4,7,8. Good luck. Jim

The tractor has to be an XT190 series 3 and a very late one if it has the "Landhandler" decal. These were repaced shortly by the 200. The older 190s had a transmission geared like a old D-17, 1st=1/2 2nd= 3/5, 3rd=4/6 and 4th=7/8. The later tractors, 190s and D-17s, had their gears in a progresive sequence "1/2,3/4,5/6,7/8. There is probably something wrong with the PD if it is wired forward. A hired man ruined a PD on Dad's 190XT3 by not moving the lever fully foward and locking it in. The clutches slipped all day and were toast by late afternoon. Have Fun and be Safe....steve
