I need a 6 to 12 wire diagram for a 1960 D10. Was rewired when i got it. I need to do some trouble shooting.Can anyone help me?

Tim, i dont have a specific diagram for a D10, but i e-mail you a generic wiring diagram for a B or C that has been converted to 12 volt with an alternator. Also sent you a diagram for wiring a Delco alternator to 12 volt system. You did not say how the tracot is equipped. If it is 12 volt, does it have a 12 volt generator, or an alternator. If it is a generator it is probably positive ground as this was popular in 1960. If it has an alternator then it has to be negative ground. Im not sure, but i thought Allis changed to 12 volt positive ground system in 1958 with the D series. Atlease the 17 and 19 were that way. Tell us what you have and we can get you better info.

It has a delco alternator an has a ford type solenoid.

thats good. you should have the battery negative post connected to ground. The delco has two small terminals and one large. the 1/4 inch terminal is positive to battery. the others are energized to make it charge. follow the prints. you rpobably know the solenoid, but the two large terminals are connected to the positive battery terminal and the starter terminal. the small terminals on the solenoid have 1 wire from the key or push button which is positive from the battery and the other small terminal is grounded to the frame. If you have any other questions, ask.

Tim,
On the left side of the page, click on Article Archives under the Research & Info heading. When that comes up, scroll down a bit until you see "A Step By Step 12V Conversion" and click on that article. This was written by Bob Melville, a true expert in this field, and is very well done. The article used the Farmall M/Super M as it's example, but the wiring will be identical except for the switches. The difference in the switches is minimal, as their functions are the same but the terminology for the contacts is different.
At the end of the article is a nice wiring diagram that should work fine for your D-10.
