Does anyone know where I can get a 12v conversion kit for a C or is there such an animal?

Kit? Never could figgure why.

Get a Delco 10SI alternator for under $40 at any auto parts store (ask for an alternator for a mid 70's GM truck.)

Replace your coil with a 12v coil. Replace any light bulbs with 12v bulbs.

Replace the capacitor in the distributor with 12v model.

Make sure your battery is wired Negative ground.

Follow basic plan in the attached article.

Good luck. It isn't hard.

The 12 volt alternator is a good conversion. I might add that if you have a magneto then the battery does nothing for the ignition. All it does it run the starter. Also lots of guys have just disconnected the generator wire and installed a 12 volt battery and go. Dont even hook up a charging system. Without lights, a decent battery will run the tracor for a week or so, maybe longer if you dont really use it much. Not hard to put on a chager in the barn once every couple weeks.--just a thought
