WD45 Clutch problem

The tractor has sat for six weeks and now the engine clutch does not work, the hand clutch works fine but when pushing the clutch pedal nothing happens, tried popping it into gear fast to break clutch loose but will not, does anyone have any ideas ???

You could put the little lock on the foot clutch to hold it in the released position and do something with the tractor that would put a good load on it and run it for a little while. Not too long though, you don't want to wear out the throw out bearing or the thrust bearing in the engine. might work.

Scott, Being that the WD-45 has the hand clutch, I would release the hand clutch, start the tractor in "high", apply the brakes "hard", depress the foot clutch and try to jerk the stuck clutch loose using the hand clutch. I have never experienced this problem with either my WD or WD-45, but it happened to my Dad's "B" when I was a kid. I remember he push started it in high, and ran it down the road at full throttle "jumping" on the brakes with the clutch depressed until it broke loose. I remember it happening to a brand new Dodge P.U. once years ago, too. The guy put the truck in High gear and with somebody holding in the clutch, two other guys "rocked" the truck until it broke loose. After it happened to my Dad's "B", he used to "lock out" the clutch whenever the tractor sat for long periods. I wonder if that might weaken the clutch springs, tho??

Scott,
The preferred method seems to be to get the tractor started and while driving it around, stomp the brakes hard with the clutch depressed. It may take several tries to get the clutch unstuck.
