High/Low Transmission on WC

I am restoring a flat top WC with a high/low transmission on the front of the rear axle. The high/low looks good but would like to know if these transmissions are troublesome as I don't want to have to remove it later if it fails. Does anyone have experience with these high/low transmissions? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

THERE ARE TWO STYLES OF THE HI LO...THE ONE WITH THE WIDER GEARS IS THE ONE YOU WANT..THE THINNER ONES WILL FAIL EVENTUALLY IN HARD PULLS...I HAVE A SPARE HILO FOR SALE BUT NOT CHEAP...MARK

Thanks for the information. Sounds like this would be something we will want to leave in the restoration. Not ready to sell yet. Will check the width of the gears. How wide should they be?
