Phil, Here's what I've done so far - Mine has a distributor (not a mag) replaced condensor and points
replaced spark plugs
replaced cap/rotor
cleaned carb (twice)
drained tank and cleaned petcock
replaced fuel line
replaced manifold gasket
adjusted the carb til I'm stinky (with exh fumes) What I haven't done, or tried to do: Tried to adjust timing, but I don't think I was turning the right part of the dist. It's comes out of the governor and then does a 90 deg. turn upright. I was loosening the actual dist. and trying to adjust it and see if there was any change in the engine. (you know, just like a typical car dist.) It didn't do anything. So, I'm wondering am I supposed to loosen and turn the part that comes out of the governor.(?) Haven't replaced plug wires That's it. This B model has a coil and distributor. Is there a way I can do a voltage/resistance type check on the coil with a multi-meter? I have one. I haven't been able to use this tractor yet, and I bought it in March. As you can imagine, I really want to get it running properly. The grass is getting TALL. Any input, it greatly appreciated.
