Dick, do you have any idea where I can find a good used Ross steering gear box, worm and shaft for a 1947 AC-B model? I tried the classifieds and only got one response. The guy is checking to see what he has but I believe he has the Gremmer steering gear box. He says it's on an early B model that is hand crank. Are the two interchangeable? I thought the torque tubes on the electric start models were longer so there was room for the battery. If so, the steering wheel shaft would be to short on the Gremmer box wouldn't it?

Your correct, Parts are not interchangeable.
I would think Roger VanCamp would have both in his yard. You will not be able to contact him this month, except mondays or at what ever Allis show he would be attending. I bought a complete Ross from him this spring for a B. It was set up but after I took it apart and cleaned it up it just needed a seal. Don't remember what he charged.
