Ca eccentric pins

I am going to attempt to remove rear rims from tractor,the eccentric pins are froze up. any one have any ideas how to free them up without breaking them,i sprayed wd 40 on them,also if i can move them what would be a good tread width to set them back,idont think i will ever use it but to ride around. thanks tommy m

I had some rusted real bad. I took the bolts out of the brackets that bolt to the stamped steel hub. I then took the snap rings off the back of the eccentric pins, clamped them in a vice and heated them up and punched them out. Buffed them on a wire wheel and put them back with new snap retainers and a litte grease.

I just did that. here's what worked for me with advise from the board. get an old 1/2 drive deepwell socket and weld it to a pipe so that the 1/2 drive part fits over the eccentrics. This can be used as a close fitting tool so that you won't round off the square head when trying to loosen. you really need to get one eccentric loose in order to remove the wheel. Jack up one wheel of the tractor. if one eccentric breaks loose, then remove the bolts that hold the eccentrics to the hub, and you can remove the entire eccentric assembly. you won't need to break the other 2 loose to remove them. there is a clip on back of the assembly. remove the eccentric, clean, grease (or antiseize) and reassemble. If you break the head off of an eccentric as I did, save it and have it rewelded to the shaft. I would set the wheel at the narrow setting so it will fit on a trailer if necessary.
