Yes, you got kinda' reamed. On the other hand, the stuff that's broken on the WD is not too hard to fix and it's still a great tractor. You may be able to swap enough parts to get the 45 running and looking the way you want. By the way, look up "ROG'S" post on Allis Chalmers.com if you want to see the array of responses questions like yours can receive. I'd imagine that some will say that you should never buy a tractor you haven't thoroughly inspected. If you do, you're taking a giant leap of faith!!! (or to put it like some of those people: What's wrong with you? What do you expect. These are 50 year old tractors, not new ones; welcome to the school of hard knocks, blah blah blah) You could post the seller's name to help inform the rest of us, but if you do that: WATCH OUT!!! It gets ugly! You live and learn, right? Good luck. RC PS: There are 2 sides to every story. Until we hear the seller's side and let Doctor and world- reknowned scientist WSM collate the data and render his hypothesis, nothing you or I say matters anyway!
