Allis Chalmers Garden Tractor ?

I would like some info on an AC garden tractor that looks like a midget motor grader. I saw one of these years ago. I think the motor was in the back. What is the model number, when were they built, what HP, and what should they sell for? I know there are a lot of variables with condition, and location in the country, but am just curious. I think I would like to restore one of these. I would apprciate any help you can give me. Thanks, Mark R.

where can i find information on how to date the four ac garden tractors that i have by tractor ser # or engine model number ? i have a b-1 that i think is a 1962 i also have a b-110 b-112 and a 410 searies anything would help thanks.

Sounds like you're talking about an Allis Chalmers "G". If so, G's were made from 1948 to 1955. A "G" has 9 hp on the drawbar...10.33 hp on the belt. Value is hard to call but run from $1000.00 for one that needs a lot of work up to the 5 thousand range for a reconditioned machine and I'm sure that these price ranges can vary more...most likely higher. Almost all implements were belly mounted (disk was pull type behind tractor) and vary in price also.

Thanks for your help with the AC Model "G". At the prices you mentioned I may select another hobby tractor to restore. I am not surprised that they are collectors items. I don't recall any other tractor like it. Do you know what make and type of engine the Model "G" had?

I think the G had the Continental N62 engine.

According to my book the engine is a Continental AN-62 vertical, four-cylinder L-head

Model "G" fun, and interesting, I saved one from the scapyard last year, maybe two,, hadn't run in 15yrs or so, sitting outside, that little continental motor purred like a kitten with fresh gas and a scraping of the points. I found it to be the most unique tractor I had ever seen! Don't know what to do with one though, someone paid $1200.00 for it as is, running, with only a blade on it, it made a cute little grader!
