I recently purchased an Allis tractor with a front end loader(trip bucket)that was represented to me to be a WD45, however the numbers don't seem to agree with that. The number on the rear end housing is WD18251 which according to the serial number info on this site seems to be for a WD. The engine has a cast in number on the left side that is U3019 31. The engine also has a number on the right but I have not been able to read that clearly yet but also on the left side is a sticker that says "Power Crater Engine" which was supposedly put in the WD45s from what I can find out. Next, the loader has Allis decals on it and a plate that says Mfd for Allis Chalmers, Model # 170 and Serial # 6332. I am trying to find out if this is an original loader for this tractor. Any help with identifying this tractor and loader would be a great help. Thanks in advance for your help.

Tom, I don't know anything about your loader but if the engine in your tractor has a plate aprox. 6" x 18" on the right side of the block you have a WD engine. No plate makes it a "45" engine. The engines interchange with little or no modification. We once built a 45 block with a kit from TSC with "High Compresion" domed pistons that added about 9 hp. to the hp. rating of a 45.Now THAT was a WD! It used to struggle with the 3 bottom mounted plow but after the transplant it was a whole different tractor. Good luck with yours. Jim
