The number on the right side of the engine is
WD326147PA
The number on the left side of the engine is
U-3019 38
The number on the rearend is
AM-3635-7

How old is my tractor?
Is this the original engine?
How can you tell if it is the original engine or not?

Clint, If it is the original engine, your tractor is a 1952 WD. Look up the "Tractor" Ser.# on the rear LH vertical surface of the differential below the brake cover. There is a machined area between the brake spring hole and the brake adjusting bolt/locknut where the number is stamped. I have been compiling a list of the engine vs the tractor serial numbers in an attempt to find some sort of correlation. As I understand it, engines were used in combines, road graders, stationary units, etc., so there probably is no direct correlation; only an approximation, depending on how many of the engines were used in the other applications. My late brother's '52 WD's engine # is WD326470PA and the tractor # is WD116619; putting it pretty close to yours. BTW, "PA" indicates the high compression engine meant to burn 70 octane or higher gasoline, whereas, a "KA" engine would be low compression meant to burn tractor fuel, distillate, kerosene or low octane gasoline. I would appreciate it if you would post your tractor serial number when you find it. Thanks,

Clint, scroll down the first page of this forum to the WD45 question and answers and see if that helps . Then this website or the unofficial allis site has serial # listings.Also some of the guys can tell you if the numbers are factory units or replacments.Tom
