THE OTHER SATURDAY I WAS BUSH HOGGING WITH THE B
AND HIT A LOG AND PTO STOPPED WORKING CORRECTLY.
COULD IT BE THE O.R.C. HAS BROKEN AND I CAN JUST
REPLACE IT OR HAVE I BUSTED UP THE PTO? IF SO WHAT PARTS DO I NEED TO REPLACE? HOW DO YOU GET THE STUPID O.R.C. OFF? THANKS IN ADVANCE.

PS: THE BELT PULLEY AND HYDRULIC PUMP WORK FINE.

It could be the ORC, but it could be the below problem as well.

Does the PTO turn at all when engaged?

Why is your PTO shaft not the same length on each end? I have always undestood that they should be.

Todd, I have a allis b and have bush hoged with a unit for a few years now. I had the same problem the first year I used the unit. The problem is #1 your bush hog has a short shaft to a long shaft then to the unit. With this set up you'll have problems every time you turn. I have to stop and shut off the bush hog every time I want to turn very sharp. When I turn very gradualy the tractor pto knocks but still will work. #2 the way your going to fix this problem is to take off the pto cover and replace the woodriff key. "IT" book is of some help. The key looks like a half moon about a 1/4" thick. It is a simple fix, need to replace the tran fluid. S.A.E. 20w (7qts with pto). Good luck and let me know how you made out

Todd,
The wodruff key can be purchased at an AGCO dealer or, if you have the dimensions, an auto parts store such as NAPA or similar. If you can't find one, try Sandy Lake Implement at the email below. They're good people.
