Does any one know what type oil goes in a 47 "c"
allis chalmers gear box/hyd-res.
I don't know if I should use 90w or something else

Ron,
Engine oil-4qt S.A.E.20 change 60 hrs.
Oil filter (NAPA 1101) change 200 hrs. or when oil is dark.
Steering gear S.A.E. 140
Final Drive-1 1/2 pt each S.A.E. 140
Transmission-6qt (with pto 7 qts)S.A.E. 20w

the transmission, hydraulic and pto cavities aare all connected. you will find about 3 drain plugs on the bottom and one filler on the side of the transmission. originally the tracotr had 20 wt if it had a hydraulic pump. most guys now will change to the new trans-hydraulic fluid. you can get it at most farm centers. it is a 20wt base oil with extra addatives to dispurse water, anti foam, etc.
