Is their any periodic maintenance for the governor on my allis chalmer wd? Do you put oil in it or drain it out.or is it oiled from the crankcase? What kind of oil do you use if you do put oil in it?

The governor is oiled from the gear train. The mag drive shaft which is part of the governor drive runs in two bronze bushings and gets oil that works it's way back along the shaft from the gear/governor area. It also gets a shot of oil when you pour oil in the oil filler cap on top of the mag drive housing. Model B and C etc had a small oil line going to the governor, but the larger engine of WC, WD, WD45 etc. doesn't have this line.
