D-17 hydraulics

I have a series II D17 that I'm adding a crankshaft mounted pump to operate the loader.My Question doesn't concern this part of the system but I'd like to use the original hydraulics to lift my disk with it's high pressure cylinder,the tractor has an add on 3pt hitch .Can I lock(with a bolt on bracket)the 3pt at the proper pulling height and then use the lever valve to raise the disk or must the lift arms be all the way up before the rear hydraulics work??

our series III we raise all the way and clip with a chain. I dont see why it could not be pinned at mid storke. It just sends oil to the path of least resistance. if you hold the three point, the accessory line should get the oil flow.
