D-15 Diesels. How many made????

How many D-15 diesels did AC make. I have heard they are kind of rare. I ran one for a fellow a long time ago and really like the tractor am now looking for one to buy. Were they all wide front models,and this one had a factory 3 point. The old guy still has it and says one day he will give me first shot.

It looks like they made 1129 units. 91 of them were nf and the rest were roll shift wf. There were also 25 orchard models made.

I don't think the D15D is a particularly rare tractor. I think AC ended up competing against it self with the D15 series. I think a lot of people then were still getting good service from their WD45's and were willing to wait for something with at least the same horsepower but better upgrades, i.e. hydraulics. I really think AC almost waited too long to get on board with everyone else in the world of hydraulics and 3 point hitch. I got that information on production runs from Norm Swinfords book 'Allis-Chalmers Farm Equipment 1914-1985'. Really an excellent resource and information book.
