i am restoring a d17 ac. i have been told it is a series 4 but the fuel tank says 3. how would you go about finding out which is correct. it is a deisel. also what are the correct paint codes for this tractor. any comments would be most welcomed thanks

A series 4 had a hydraulic pump mounted at the belt pulley position. Series 4 s/n began with 75001 and ran through 89213. Series 3 s/n began with 42001 and ran through 72768 except 43359 through 65000.

Also the ser.3 has one way hydraulics ser.4has two way (2 levers)
